Layton Dental Implants
Do you have a missing tooth or have you recently learned that you need a dental extraction?
You are not alone!
Millions of people face dental extractions each year. At Davis Dental Care, we do our best to help you retain all your natural teeth, but when an extraction becomes necessary, we are here to help.
Many of our patients choose dental implants to replace their missing teeth because they are the most convenient and long-lasting method to complete your smile and protect your oral health!
The Benefits of Dental Implants
When you lose teeth, your oral health often develops a negative chain reaction. Tooth loss leads to a gap in your smile. Your remaining teeth naturally begin to lean toward this gap and negatively impact the integrity of your bite. This type of misalignment can lead to pain, periodontal disease, sensitivity, and even additional tooth loss. A dental implant acts as a placeholder, keeping your teeth in line.
Dental implants also help to prevent the bone loss that is common after a dental extraction because they integrate with your natural bone, just like your teeth.
Dental implants are long lasting. If you look forward to many years of eating, smiling, and speaking, a dental implant can provide many patients with the most convenient, hassle-free way to have a functional and beautiful smile.
Because they are stable and secured in your bone, dental implants do not require many diet restrictions. You can still eat the foods you love. Of course, it is always a good idea to avoid chewing ice and to treat your dental implant with the same consideration as your natural teeth.
Dental implant crowns look great. We custom design each one to match your teeth so your smile appears seamless.
Single dental implants are easy to care for. You can brush and floss them normally. At your regular dental exams, we will make sure your implant and crown are functioning properly.
How Dental Implants Work
Many of our patients are surprised at how painless dental implant surgery is and how fast they heal! We will ensure your comfort throughout your dental implant surgery and monitor you closely as you heal. Once you recover from your surgery, we will allow time for your dental implant to stabilize in your bone in a process called osseointegration. This generally takes about four to six months.
Once your implant is stable, we will create a custom dental implant crown to complete your smile. Dr. Hans Smith will take great care to ensure that your final dental implant crown is beautiful and fits perfectly.
If you have multiple missing teeth, you may benefit from implant-supported dentistry. We can place one or more dental implants to secure dental bridges, partial dentures, and dentures in place, giving you added security and confidence.
